The Institute for Women's Studies showed up in full color at the first annual Certificate Fair on August 28. The Grand Hall at the Tate Student Center was filled with tables for the 50+ certificate programs offered at UGA. Students, advisors, faculty and staff browsed the offerings and grabbed flyers, brochures, and - of course - swag from programs including IWS's Undergraduate Certificate in LGBTQIA+ Studies and Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies, and other certificate programs such as Native American Studies, Disability Studies, Sustainability, Immunology, Urban Design, Interdisciplinary Creative Writing, and dozens more. "It was great to talk with students and advisors, but it was also really nice to see the diversity of offerings here at UGA," said Dr. Cecilia Herles, Assistant Director of the Institute for Women's Studies. "There are so many ways for students to craft a college experience that is meaningful to them through the addition of a certificate program. I hope we do this every year!"
