Sr. Lecturer Joselyn K. Leimbach (she/her) is a Senior Lecturer with the Institute for Women's Studies at the University of Georgia. She earned her PH.D. in Gender Studies from Indiana University with a focus on the intersections of gender, sexuality, and race depicted in depictions of queer women in US popular culture. Josie teaches numerous courses in Women's Studies, including "Diversity in LGBTQ Politics," "Gender, Race, Class, Sexuality," "Gender and Popular Culture," and "Understanding Research in Women's Studies." She has contributed essays to several anthologies, including “Queering Cristina Yang: Childfree Women, Disrupting Heteronormativity, and Success in 'Failed’ Femininity” in The Truth about (M)otherhood: Choosing to be Childfree (Demeter Press, 2021), “Comedian, Covergirl, Conversationalist: Ellen's Incorporate Body” with Brenda Weber in Hysterical! Women in American Comedy (University of Texas Press 2019), and "Strengthening as they Undermine: Rachel Maddow and Suze Orman's Homonormative Lesbian Identities" in In the Limelight and Under the Microscope (Continuum 2011). She is the 2021 Founder's Award co-recipient for service to the LGBT Community at UGA from UGA's LGBT Resource Center.
