I am a Marketing Content Writer with Development and Alumni Relations at UGA. I write everything from social media captions to mass emails to solicitations and alumni/donor profiles.

How has your Women's Studies experience shaped your life and work post-graduation?
I particularly enjoyed Nichole Ray’s classes, as they opened my eyes to a lot of writing and literature that I had not been previously exposed to. I believe that those classes have contributed greatly to my ability to write effectively and creatively, as well as to read and interact with media and literature critically.

What are your favorite memories from your time in Women's Studies at UGA? Courses, professors, events?
Nichole Ray’s Critical Feminist Readings class - those are the writings that have most impacted me as a reader, writer, and human.

Any advice for current Women's Studies students (graduate or undergraduate)?
Listen! In this age of putting our lives on display via social media and the internet, it can be so tempting to use the format of Women’s Studies classes as a platform to speak on our experiences and thoughts in a way that is not always welcomed in (most) other spaces. And while that is so important, it is even more important to take advantage of these courses as an opportunity to LISTEN to others. Take in what your professors, classmates, authors, and academics are saying, let it simmer, and bask in the information that you are getting that you may not get anywhere else. You don’t always need to center yourself in every narrative you are exposed to.
