Sunday, September 27 2026, 5 - 7pm Clarke County School District Bldg, 595 Prince Avenue WGS 50th Anniversary Other Events ASALH Calendar Athens-ASALH invites you to an upcoming event connected to civil rights history. On September 27, from 5-7pm, we will host the Uncommon Valor Program, to honor six educators who participated in desegregating Athens' schools and commemorate the founding of our organization by historian Dr. Carter G. Woodson, who also originated what is now Black History Month. We'll also drop the latest short film from the Athens Film Project, Integrating Athens. The program takes place in the Clarke County School District Building on 595 Prince Avenue. This is free and open to the public with light reception to follow.
