The Dancer's Voice Intro Pre-Released

Dr. Rumya S. Putcha's first book, The Dancer’s Voice: Performance and Womanhood in Transnational India, will be released in December 2022 by Duke University Press. In it, Putcha develops a critical race and feminist approach to Indian performance cultures. The introduction to The Dancer's Voice has been pre-released on the Duke University Press website and can be accessed here. Dr. Putcha is an Assistant Professor in the Institute for Women's Studies and the Hugh Hodgson School of Music.
