Image: Several members of the WGS community presented at the National Women’s Studies Association conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico this past week. Grad students Vanessa Raditz and Jess Martinez presented on a panel titled “Can't Stop Change: Queer Climate Stories from the Florida Frontlines,” which featured a screening of their documentary film of the same name. Assistant Director Dr. Cecilia Herles participated in two panels: “Visibility and Eco-thriving in Intergenerational Feminist Critical Connections,” and “North American Asian Feminist Sisterhood: Resisting Oppression through Art and Friendship.” And Dr. Elise Robinson presented at the pre-conference for Program Administration and Development, on a panel titled “Advice for New Chairs and Directors.” WGS Affiliate Amy Bonnaffons presented on a panel titled "Intimate Disappointments: Contemporary Women's Literary Fiction in the Wake of #MeTOO," and affiliate Sharina Maíllo-Pozo participated in a roundtable on "Embodiment and Representations of Beauty." The conference was provocative and energizing, and the location was beautiful (and HOT!). Congratulations to all who attended and presented!
