Associate Professor, English Cynthia Turner Camp specializes in late medieval literature and medieval hagiography. Her research interests include topics as various as late medieval saints' lives; community identity construction, including local and national identities; the literature and culture of late medieval monasticism; medieval historiography and understandings of time; medieval literature after Chaucer; and manuscript studies and the early development of printing. Teaching interests also include women's literary culture and the devotional literature of the laity; she also teaches the Hargrett Hours Projectcourses. In 2012 she was a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of London's Institute for English Studies. Her monograph, Anglo-Saxon Saints' Lives and the Writing of History in Late Medieval England (Boydell and Brewer 2015), examines the interplay of Middle English saints' lives and historical consciousness.
